Hiruka could sleep anywhere a tree laid, it seemed like- it hadn't managed to change since she was a child. Even just outside the rancid and dust-filled mines of a time when experimenting was a common calamity in the area, a happy smile was plastered on the green-haired girl's face as she snoozed in a tree on an upper branch, straw hat covering her eyes from any sunlight trying to get in the way. Though she lacked dreams that day, it was still a pleasant nap- with an abrupt end, or so one would assume.
As she twisted slightly to lay on her side, the short body slumped out of the tree and fell straight to the ground with only a few branches attempting to stop her fall. Somehow, she remained dead asleep, face nuzzling in the dirt below the treetop and enjoying the shade. Somehow, falling out of trees was just common enough to sleep through to the strange young girl that had always adored them. She could easily fall asleep lulled by the wind if the leaves were swaying by her side. But once she was asleep, a fall couldn't wake her.

"Oh man, this is gonna be so siiick..." Felix grinned, muttering to himself excitedly as he continued towards his destination. He traveled all the way from his college's dormitory, passed through the towns, and was now striding under the bright sun without breaking a sweat. He probably would have gotten there much quicker had it not been for the distractions littered everywhere. Hey, he may have explored a lot but there were still plenty of things to check out--like the abandoned laboratory that he had been prohibited from. Well, not really prohibited as it was never announced officially that the place was off-limits, but quite a few of his acquaintances and the faculty had assumed the worse due to his mischievous nature. Besides, it wasn't really safe there because of the terrible state the labs had gotten from years of abandonment.
Which was exactly why he made it a point to immediately head over as soon as he got the time. The boy walked confidently down the path, swinging the handle of a can filled with red paint with one hand. He didn't have a brush in sight, but the pockets of his baggy cargo shorts were bulging with its small contents. A camera hung around his neck, dangling precariously above his chest and hitting it with each bouncing step, yet he didn't seem to mind. A few people had given him weird looks while he was making his way there, which was inevitable. He didn't let them get him down though--he had a mission to accomplish.
The ruins of the dilapidated establishment finally came to view. Felix's pace hastened into a jog as he began drawing closer and closer to his destination. Finally! It was time for things to get interesting. Yes, he was going to do this and it was going to be super duper ridiculously awesome and--
THUMP!
"SWEET MOTHER OF--" Felix instantly jumped back as soon as he saw a blur plummet from the heavens, the container of paint being flung to the ground and rolling to the side. His eyes shut close and his arms drew in front of him defensively, with one leg slightly raised as though the attacker was going to drag him to the dark pits of Giratina. A few tense seconds ticked by.
Upon noticing the lack of his limbs being torn off, Felix reluctantly opened his eyes. "Eh?" To his surprise, it wasn't some unholy spawn of darkness that was going to punish him for eternity, but rather a pile of green hair with a weird hat. It was a person. Oh, what a relief. He lowered his guard, only to tense up once more.
The person wasn't moving.
He hastily sat down beside the motionless girl, shaking her by the shoulder. "HEY HEY! Are you alright?!"
The shaking of her shoulders certainly didn't help her sleep- which, of course, it wasn't supposed to. However, she was still tired, and as she woke up from it, she had a delusion it was some weird massager trying to help her. But then, as she opened her green eyes easily, she was able to notice there was a face above her, and a rather grantic voice.
Oh. Someone was trying to wake her up?
"Why wouldn't I be alright?" Sitting up and rubbing her head, she noticed a slight ache in her back, and that she was rather close to the ground compared to when she dozed. "Dang. I fell out while I was sleeping again. That tree had such a nice view it must've lulled me to sleep."
Rather than pay attention to the slight ringing in her ears from the violent wake-up call of the day, she jumped to her feet and dusted off her skirt, grabbing her hat that had fallen to the side and forcing it back upon her bed head. "Well, at least I got a good nap in! But I'm surprised. I came here to explore and find some neat plants, but I didn't expect to meat a person! Did you come to explore the ruins too?"

Felix continued shaking the unconscious girl in hopes of her not being dead. It seemed like a long shot seeing as there was no major bleeding or noticeably grotesque bending of limbs, but it still didn't calm his nerves. Dear sweet Arceus if his adventure to the labs would turn into a traumatizing experience of watching someone suddenly die in his arms, he would probably cease leaving his dorm. Thankfully that wasn't the case, for the girl's eyes fluttered open a a short while later.
Felix blinked a few times, his hysterical shaking coming to an abrupt stop as he let go. "YOU'RE ALIVE! Oh man, I thought I got ambushed by a corpse for a moment." He sighed in relief, a small smile now replacing his concerned expression. He sat back on the ground as the girl began to sit herself up. "Any broken bones? Should I call an ambulance? Why did you come outta nowhere anyways?" It seemed he had a hundred questions to ask, but who could blame him? This wasn't exactly an everyday occurrence.
What was even more odd was the girl's explanation. Felix seemed to pause for a moment, absorbing her words. Then his smile broke into a grin and he began to laugh. "HAHAHA! Seriously? You were sleeping the whole time? That's awesome! I can barely even sleep for an hour, let alone after falling off a tree!" It was true. The idea of someone being able to stay asleep after such an impact was already an achievement worthy of a trophy in his book. It was even more impressive when the girl managed to immediately stand and dust herself off, as if the incident was nothing more harmful than a mere bump.
"Got that right, tree girl! I came here for a little project, which I probably should get to work on before it gets too late. Way too much stuff to work on once I get back." Felix followed suit and stood up, not caring to remove the dirt that stuck to his shorts. "Now where did that... Ah!" He sauntered over to where the paint can had rolled off, picking it up by the handle. He looked back to the girl. "You seem pretty alright by the looks of it so I'll be heading off now. Was nice meeting you, tree girl!"
He hadn't made a few steps down the trail before a thought occurred to him. The girl said she was going to explore the ruins as well, and while he did commend her for her ability to withstand the incident, he wasn't entirely sure if that was how far she would go. What if she got hurt for real? He turned around. "Uh, hey! You know what, why don't you come with me? You said you were gonna collect some plants at the ruins right? 'Sides, it'll be fun! I could use a little help with what I'm planning to do."

Surprised by his hysteria and the firm hands suddenly leaving from shaking her before, she tried to comprehend the many questions being asked. She didn't have any broken bones she could notice. She had no reason to get in an ambulance if she felt fine, which she did...Was there really much to say? But one thing really bugged her. "How can you get attacked by a corpse? Corpses are dead. They can't do anything to you besides creep you out." And lead to a panic attack, but that was another story.
"I sleep best in trees, okay? I don't know why, but if I'm in a tree, I feel at most peace! They're comfy!" Pouting childishly, before calming down. As he moved on out to leave, she wanted to complain about the name 'tree girl'. Sure, it suited her perfectly- but it wasn't her actual name, and being called it by a stranger felt weird. Though, she'd love to tell her siblings about the funny situation later.
As he offered for her to join and help him in his quest, her head tilted slightly as she scratched her head. "I guess it sounds fun, but...What is it you're up to exactly?" She had no idea why he'd need a paint can at ruins after all. Was he going to fix them? No, paint was for colors, not fixing...Nope, no idea, she decided, as she continued on. "And if we're going together, we should at least exchange our names. Tree Girl sounds cute and all, but...I still like my real name better for some reason. Ah, name's Hiruka by the way. How about you, stranger?"
