It was inevitable, saturday was a lazy day. Nothing to do, no where to go, music flying through his head and no paper around, Jasper was hella bored. He was supposed to meet a few of his siblings here in the hang out lobby, but for some odd reason they were all late. That or he got the time wrong and he was early. Or he was overly late, and he had decided a long time ago that that wasn't the case.
Currently, Jasper was laying down on an empty couch staring at the ceiling. His fingers flicking the soft couch fabric in the rhythm of one of his newest compositions. He had received a commission request about a week ago for a piano piece from a brand new client. Not one of his regulars. Though he had yet to find out what the piece was to be used for. Though he wasn't one to ask, he just really loved to hear his pieces being used by others. If they pay for it of coarse.
His thoughts were stray however. He was stuck. Everytime he played the tune in his head, nothing would sound right. And he didn't have a piano to test it out. But he didn't want to just drop the project, as it was something that was very important to him AND he didn't want to just put the song down and abandon it. Jasper wasn't like that. He didn't abandon things.
This was how he passed his time here in the boring part of the Hangout room. Luckily he wasn't the only person within the room and there was some back ground noise to calm his nerves. He absolutely hated silence and usually cracked when there was.
Saturday was the best day of the week. At least, according to Zachary White. It wasn't unusual for the pink-haired boy to spend the night before out partying until the wee hours of the morning, so Saturdays were often luxury sleeping-in days.
Of course, this particular Saturday, Zach had agreed to meet a few of his siblings to hang out, and he'd only just woken up. He stretched his arms towards the ceiling of his dorm room and sighed, pulling a plain white t-shirt over his naked torso. He didn't even bother changing out of his fuzzy pink and blue spotted pajama pants. As much as he loved his siblings, they really weren't worth dressing up for on a lazy Saturday. The pink-haired boy grabbed his dorm keys and school ID off his desk and slipped into a pair of comfy sneakers as he left the room.
Zach yawned loudly as he walked down the hall. He was pretty close to the student hangout where he'd agreed to meet up with his siblings, and he could see his brother's blue hair through the glass panel in the door. He smirked, realizing the other boy was probably working on his music compositions as he waited. Zach opened the door to the hangout area, and took a running jump towards his brother, landing awkwardly, and probably painfully, on the blue haired boy's lap.
"Hey little bro," for being a whole year older than Jasper, Zachary really didn't act it at all. He wrapped his arms around the other boy's neck, pulling himself closer, cheeks nearly touching, "It's Saturday, why are you spending the day working when there's fun to be had?" He giggled stretching one arm out and waving it erratically.
He paused and looked around, confused, "Where's Cassie?" he asked, "Did she cancel? She's, like, never late!"
She was the kind of person who went out of her way to make friends and be a good person. She loved the attention, the thought that people wanted to be around her. The feeling of being loved by a group of people was something Cassandra White strived for.
Perhaps it was all due to her upbringing. Being the youngest of five, having no extraordinary talents at all. It made the attention all the more worth it. But, even then, she couldn't say she hated her family. Not completely, anyway. And being the baby of the family certainly had its perks (even if her brothers were a little too overprotective at times). Still, she knew how important her siblings were, and as much as she gave them shit for babying her and being annoying, she really did love them.
Of course, she'd thought that going off to college meant being more independent - even if it was the same college her siblings attended. She'd at least hoped she wouldn't have to see them nearly as often. But, no. Life just never worked out that way, and Cassandra found herself forgoing any plans she had with friends to spend time with her brothers.
Just because it was a Saturday and she had no plans with anyone important, didn't mean Cassandra would skimp on the opportunity to dress up. She got up early to shower and brush through her long blonde hair before picking out one of her cuter outfits, a ruffly crop top and a pair of jean shorts, high waisted, of course (it was, perhaps, her favorite fashion trend this season).
She grabbed her bag and phone and slipped out the door before her roommate could ask where she was headed. Cassandra skipped quickly down the hall, in a surprisingly decent mood for the occasion, and strolled into the common area to find her pink-haired brother, Zachary, in a strangely compromising position on Jasper's lap.
Cassandra forced down a giggle and narrowed her eyes at her brothers, "I'm right here" she corrected. Her arms folded across her chest almost involuntarily, "And I turned down a trip to the mall for this, so it better be good, kay?"
Course he didn't see it coming. He should have. Should have totally been paying attention. But he wasn't. He was giving all of his attention to the ceiling and the music that was playing horribly within his own head. It was only when the pink hair and blue/pink pajamas came into his peripheral vision did he realize what was going on. Too late.
He barely had time to react to the act of immatureness, and managed to shift slightly. But it wasn't enough and Zachary landed right on his stomach, knocking the wind and everything else out of him. He gasped and then groaned in pain as his mind caught up with his bodily feels. He wanted to punch the living daylights out of his slightly older brother even if it was the last thing he would ever do. Of course after that little event, he didn't feel like fighting and preferred to just let Zach have his weird little way.
The other man pulled on his neck to his cheek in his usual affectionate way and asked him where Cassie was. Of course Jasper couldn't think very straight for the moment and didn't answer right away. It was kind of funny to see the music that was just playing messily within his mind being jumbled into pieces.
It was only when he heard Cass's voice that he was able to catch his breath. "You... are..." He paused and took a deep breath. "An asshole Zach, you know that?" With that he sighed, tried to push Zachary's face away from his own, and looked up at their baby sister.
"Hey, its Zach's turn to pick the place. Every time I pick you guys whine about it." He made no move to push Zach off of him, but it was partly because he was still trying to catch his breath.

PULL ME CLOSER AND KISS ME HARD
i'm gonna pop your bubble gum heart
Zachary sighed in relief when he heard his sister's voice. He stood up and turned on his heel to face the girl, with hands on his hips like a disapproving mother. "Oh thank goodness, do you have any idea how worried I was," he even sounded like a disapproving mother, though part of him was joking. The other part, not so much. Zach knew about Cassie's 'unlikely' friendship with that senior boy and how he seemed to have a sweet spot for her, and quite frankly, Zach didn't like it. Not yet, anyway. "Who were you even going shopping with? That Baudelaire brat?" he tapped his foot on the ground anxiously.
"Hey, its Zach's turn to pick the place. Every time I pick you guys whine about it."
The pink-haired boy turned back to his brother in response to his question. He rolled his eyes and collapsed back on the couch, this time pushing Jasper's feet aside to give himself his own space, "That's cuz everywhere you pick is boring," he complained, "Whatever, I think we should stay here," Really, Zach just didn't want to change out of his pajamas, and leaving the student hangout would certainly mean looking more presentable, if only slightly. "You were working on your composing thing, right, Jas? Why don't you give us a preview?" he wiggled his eyebrows up and down in excitement. Zach really loved listening to and supporting his siblings hobbies. Jasper was musically inclined, and Zach certainly wasn't, which only intrigued him further.
He nudged his brother in the ribs with his elbow and winked, "Go on,"
Cassandra bit back a laugh as she watched her brothers' antics. Zachary was annoying as ever and Jasper was doing his music. Even though she was in a whole new environment, it was just like back home. Perhaps she needed this after all. Her eyes darted back and forth between Zach and Jasperuntil the pink-haired boy stood up and turned to her. Cassandra almost laughed at Zach's motherly tone. He was the kind of person to get worked up and overstressed like a mother would, and honestly, he did remind Cassandra of their mother. Pink hair and all.
"Who were you even going shopping with? That Baudelaire brat?"
She bit the inside of her cheek to keep from shouting. Of course her brothers would be worried, of course they would care, but was it really necessary for Zach to bring up him of all people. Did he think Cassandra really had no other friends? She folded her arms across her chest tightly and rolled her eyes, responding crossly, "No," she huffed angrily and circled around the couch to sit down with the other two. "He's not my only friend, you know,"
The vibrations of Cassandra's phone went off in her pocket and she relaxed her body to fetch her phone. She stared at it for a second, smiling briefly at the text message, and pocketed the device once more. She looked back up at Zach and narrowed her eyes, "And, just so you know, I'm eighteen and I'm allowed to hang out with whoever I want," god, she sounded like a brat.
Finally, all attention was off Cassandra as the two boys argued over where they were going and what they were doing. Cassandra reached for her phone again, sending a response to the text she'd gotten earlier. Really, it wasn't her fault Lyle Baudelaire was nice to her. It wasn't like she chose this - in fact, it was all completely his fault. If anything, maybe her pesky protective brothers should go question the dark-haired senior instead.
"You were working on your composing thing, right, Jas? Why don't you give us a preview?"
Cassandra tuned back into the conversation in front of her. She nodded in agreement with Zach. Jasper was a pretty damn good composer and, being family, it was Cassandra's sworn duty to tell him if he sucked before he went public with his music. Not that he would suck, but just in case, Cassandra would save him from embarrassment. She smiled for the first time that day, "C'mon, Jas, share it with us," NOTES: im so tired haha woops

MUSIC EXPRESSES THAT WHICH CANNOT BE SAID AND ON WHICH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE SILENT.
Jasper sighed over dramatically as the two started slightly bickering about cassie and her guy friend. Personally, although he was a jerk in Jasper's eyes and he probably would prefer not to hang out with him longer then a couple minutes, if Cass wanted to hangout with the idiot she was welcome to. Of course if he was going to make any sudden moves he should know that the entire white family would be on his ass within moments if they ever found out. Course Cassie should know that too.
Now Jass was all about freedom, so if his crazy older brother wanted to be all over protective of her then he could be Jasper's guest. However, that didn't mean he didnt have an eye out for his little sis. Not that he followed her around, but he passed her class to his own sometimes or brought her snacks or something for lunch.
Then they both thought it would be a great idea to ask him for a music sneak peak. He had to admit, this piece he was working on was one of the hardest and most beautiful songs he had ever worked on, he wasn't sure if he was ready to play that for them yet, in fact he had a whole orchestra in mind for it. He wasnt even near finished with the one he was working on. Perhaps he could give em a sneak at one of his other songs. They wouldnt know the difference. Good thing he brought his accustic guitar. "Pft, alright guys. I'm cool with that. You guys have any preferances? I'm open to just about anything."
