Terry has always been soft-spoken, but has never been a pushover. In class she was quiet but was never afraid to answer a question in her gentle voice. When in an argument she rarely raised her voice, but the way her brow furrowed and her words grew sharp made it clear she wouldn't back down. Many people thought Terry -- who frequently complained she preferred Diane -- was just another passive girl in the corner until they actually interacted with her. It was thus no surprise that she got through her studies in healing without incident, and that she had no problem getting a position teaching at the university afterwards. Dietary instruction, simple enough. It was also no surprise that she grew fairly isolated, and was almost reclusive by the time she began her work teaching.
Despite her confidence and competence Terry still suffered some social anxiety, and eventually that became paranoia about those around her. Just a few conflicts led her to think that her peers were out to get her, and that the world was more dog-eat-dog than many thought.
