valor's family is pretty far gone off the crazy side of things. for each new member their family seems to become proportionally more dysfunctional. valor's the first child within her immediate family and has had to face the brunt of their insane expectations and responsibilities, along with them expecting a son and treating her as one with a disregard or accommodation for her gender. it's not an obvious toxicity from her family but slow seeping poison that had tarnished her relationship with them.
as a teen she rebelled. overwhelmed with a sense of not belonging and being unloved, she became a vicious delinquent not much unlike her brother. it wasn't uncommon for her to literally melt down, showing a terrible display of being unable to control her innate powers. eventually, people outside of her family stepped in and put a stop to her emotional outburst.
things have changed for the better and valor's long cleaned up her act. taking after the people who helped to reform her, she's acquired up a teaching position after catching a few eyes for the sheer turn she's made in controlling her powers. now she serves as a battle professor, hoping to guide those that might need a little help from deviating into a path she's crossed before.
