While Logan certainly doesn't look like the teacher type, often mistaken for your average thug, he's actually an excellent battle instructor, evidenced by his position. His tactics can be a bit unorthodox, seeming more appropriate for military as opposed to training young adults, but despite how harsh he comes across, his methods seem to work, his students (the ones who can stick to his rigorous training) often turn out to be the top of the class. He wont bother with people who aren't serious about battling.
He'd become the man of the house when his father left, taking on the responsibilities when his grieving mother was unable. It was often that he had to care for his younger siblings when his mother locked herself away or when she left for days without saying a thing. He'd gotten used to the role relatively quick and was a great support to the family during that rough patch in their life. Even when she got over the situation, he continued to aid her and still does to this day, making sure his younger siblings stay out of too much trouble as well.
Logan may or may not have a drinking problem. He'd deny it to the grave that he's an alcoholic but it has been an issue brought up with family and close friends. Due to concerns, as well as the potential risk of losing his job, he does try to cut back a bit, but there are some times when he lets himself slip. He hardly ever drinks in front of his family, save the few times he just really could use one (stressed, frustrated, etc.)
