Na na na na na na na I wanna start a fight
Na na na na na na na I wanna start a fight.
The dojo usually didn't open until mid-afternoon or so, due to most classes at the Uni being in session until around five. Of course, she left some of the earlier classes, mostly those that dealt with young children, to a couple of people who worked there. So, in the meantime, Chiara basically had nothing to do. She didn't like going underground to participate in the fighting there--there were either no challenging fights, or she'd get man-handled and thrown out because of her methods. So, today, she figured she'd pay a visit to the University. It wasn't exactly a civilian-friendly place, but she was an alumni, and most of the professors there knew her and would think twice about getting into a beef with her about her being there. Or, at least that's what she assumed.
The only place that Chiara had any real interest in, was the gymnasium. There were five classrooms there, as well as a huge open area for basketball and volleyball and the like, with bleachers. The room she was headed for, was what she deemed the workout room. That's usually where the sausage fest occurred, and where one could practically smell the testosterone. It was a place she felt sort of at ease in, despite all the males there being anywhere from around six to eight years younger than her.
Not hesitating for a moment, she threw the door open and burst through it, exclaiming "ALRIGHT, MAGGOTS, THE PARTY HAS ARRIVED!"

Having been in the middle of a workout when the woman burst through, Hiruka was shocked to the point of stopping partway through a roundhouse kick she was practicing- doing reps of various punches and kicks, at various intervals, to keep her heart rate up and muscles in good condition. She wasn't a fighter, but she knew the importance of exercise- and she'd grown up being pushed to do martial arts in hope of easing her energy levels a bit, that were usually too high to maintain calm interaction with her.
Pulling her kick back after a moment or so of staring in a daze, she shook out her stiffened leg and walked over to the woman curiously. She was obviously older to some extent, and that wasn't taking into account height, which Hiruka would also lose in if it were a battle of sorts.
But this wasn't a battle. It was merely a surprise, which lead to Hiruka waving and muttering a hello of sorts while digging into her pocket mid-speech. "By the way, we're not worms. If we were, we'd be even smaller, right?" Pulling out a pack of candy, munching on one piece to get some sugar into her startled system before holding the container out. "Ah, want some? Workouts go well with sugar."

Na na na na na na na I wanna start a fight
Na na na na na na na I wanna start a fight.
Much to Chiara's dismay, there was only one person working out in the room. ONE. That was not good enough. There should be more people in here. Always! Working out was the best way to pass time! Instead, most were into playing video games and shit like that, wasting their lives and brains away. What was the point of virtually beating the shit out of something if you could do it in real life?
Real life > video games.
She eyed the younger female, angling her head away, one eye larger than the other, as she was approached. Chi crossed her arms, a sort of scowl on her face. Despite her having been working out, Chi would've been much more impressed if she'd continued working out, rather than pausing to greet her. "THIS IS PRECISELY WHY I CALL PEOPLE MAGGOTS. YOU TRY TO THINK TO HARD FOR YOURSELVES. LET YOUR ACTIONS DO THE TALKING!" she bellowed. She eyed the pack of candy closely and quizzically. She turned away from it, the scowl returning to her face. "I do not eat while I'm working out or getting ready to." she said. It wasn't that she couldn't, it's just that she would Bulk Up during workouts to get more reps in, so she could easily outlast anyone attempting to out-rep her. Not only that, but it helped in fights. Whereas people needed to eat to gain energy, she could resort to Bulk Up, to an extent. She wasn't immune to not having to eat, but she could do it far less most of the time. However, she'd found out that the more she used Bulk Up during a fight or workout, she'd become all the more ravenous at a later time, though that time varied. "Get back to your workout, maggot!" she grumbled as she headed for a dangling punching bag herself.

"There's no reason to listen to someone who calls people worms. People are people. And besides, I've been here an hour. I was finishing my last rep to leave anyway." Smiling despite being a bit frustrated, sniffing a candy and letting it melt in her own mouth soon afterwards. "Martial arts are fun if you work on them for yourself, but it's hard to find a place to do it where I don't have to fight. But, I finished. Now all that's left to do is a good run, then get ready for my next class."
Perusing to her bag she'd left by a machine of some sort [which, of course, she didn't know how to use], she pulled out a spare water bottle and placed it on the ground. "Even if you don't eat something when you work out, make sure you drink enough. You'll get dehydrated after you sweat if you don't drink lots of water. Or a sports drink." She looked over her shoulder. Sure, she was a bit pissed off- but it was at least nice seeing someone else in the room she'd had to herself up until then. Then again, she'd originally wanted to train alone...But somehow, watching the stranger start working with a punching bag pushed her to want to keep working.
"Hrm...Well, another rep wouldn't hurt..." Returning her bag to the floor, she went back to her spot and began kicking the air with fair force- trying to show off her past to a stranger who wouldn't care, as if feeling competitive- which was against her nature. "Nothing beats moving around a lot. Maybe a good tree climb after this will feel even better."
The girl that Chiara had run into was beginning to get on her nerves. No respect, pah! In her own bout of frustration, Chiara began striking the punching bag swiftly from all sides, moving faster than the eye could follow, and a little harder than what would be considered a 'normal' workout. "Well, I guess we have different opinions. The best way to improve yourself, is by doing martial arts first hand. Sure, you can learn the basics, but until you actually start doing things with someone else, you'll be stuck at a pathetic level of experience," Chiara said between punches.
An annoyed look found its way to Chiara's face as the girl that had been in there prior to her was explaining to her that hydration was important. What was this, elementary school? "Do I look like a fucking newbie to working out? I run a dojo, so I think I know how workouts work, little lady," Chiara said, not using 'maggot' this time to refer to Hiruka.
Upon hearing Hiruka decide another rep wouldn't hurt, a smirk came to Chiara's face. "Now that's more like it," she said, in an almost approving tone. The tree-climbing, however, puzzled Chiara. "Heh. To each their own... I guess. I prefer routine, grueling physical training, on the ground," she said, as she continued to throw punches at the punching bag from different angles, still moving faster than the eye could see.

Being told that it was meant for experience didn't surprise her, but it was more for Hiruka that she didn't care about her experience level in the field. She was more interested in helping than hurting people- and by helping, she'd rather force medicine down their throats. Though, that could use some force at times, she supposed. "To each their own. I just do martial arts for self discipline and training. I have other exercises I prefer, but...It's sort of a habit now to train a bit a day. I've been doing it since I was a kid, after all. I'm not aiming to be a professional in it. It's for myself. I intend to be a doctor, not a fighter. But...knowing about the types of injuries you can get is definitely helpful."
Pouting, she soon heard herself being scolded for treating the woman like a newbie. Well, she did sort of deserve it, but somehow, being scolded felt weird when she usually did the scolding herself. Switching legs so that she was now more facing the woman at hand, she groaned lightly. "It's not like I can just guess you run a dojo. Honestly, I thought you were a student. You're young after all, and it's not like you find strangers coming into the school gym often."
"You should try doing kicks from a tree branch sometime, though. It helps your balance a lot. Though it takes time to get used to," Finishing her legs, she began to do some fairly well formed punches at the air- starting with a high, middle and low in a pattern going downward, switching arms swiftly each time. "What kind of martial arts do you teach at the dojo?"
Self discipline, eh? That was not something Chiara had ever really had... nor was it something that she'd likely have anytime soon. At least this gal bothered to train a little, instead of stick to drinking or doing whatever it is that was the norm these days. What surprised Chiara, was that she wanted to be a doctor, of all things. She wasn't going to admit it right off, but that was a little admirable. "Experiencing the injuries first-hand is the best part," Chiara commented, a bit of her masochistic personality showing.
Chiara had to laugh at the girl's pouting. It seemed as though she were upset she couldn't scold another student, and it bugged her that Chiara was, in fact, older than her. "Hah! Well, I'll take that as an indirect compliment. I'm only a year and a half away from entering decade three of this life. And no, I suppose you wouldn't--you aren't the type that goes wandering around places. My dojo isn't exactly in a well-known area in the middle of main street, so I guess I can forgive you on that one," she said, taking a pause from her punching of the bag. Despite how long she'd been at it, she didn't seem out of breath in the slightest.
Upon hearing the suggestion of trying kicks from a tree branch, Chiara was amused. "I can't say I've done such a thing from a tree, but I have done so from skinny bars high up, and on edges of buildings," she said. Chiara shrugged and sighed at the latest question. "Whatever is in demand at the time. I have knowledge in most everything; if people are wanting to do one kind more than another, then I'll have classes for that. If, say, there are only two interested in taking karate, then I probably won't bother. Popularity seems to change every few years."
