Phoebe, in reality, is an emotionless girl who has no sense of personality. She grew up in a family who lives for the art of coordinating; whether they do cool, clever, or cute contests-- it didn't matter. However, unlike her bubbly family who are always smiling, Phoebe had no motivation. She just moved with the motions, barely putting a effort into anything she did. After a while she realized how disappointed her mother was with her, hoping she could be more upbeat and exuberant, like her older sister. So, in order to accommodate with her mother's wishes, she fabrcated a whole new personality for herself. No longer did she appear numb, but instead she looked alive; smiling at everyone as if they are someone she has known forever.
Her "fake" personality is sociable, happy, upbeat, clumsy, and simply lovable. It is exactly the personality one would expect from the Pink child. Though, she also pretends to act a bit naive at times, which is honestly the hardest part to pull off since her real self is pretty knowledgeable already. Honestly, by now she's grown used to faking her personality, to the point where she may change the way she acts depending on the person she's speaking to, though she sticks to her upbeat personality most of the time.
Her reaction to things she likes and dislikes varies from barely noticeable to extremely apparent, more so the first option than the second. This means that it's quite hard to read her true thoughts and feelings by merely staring at her face.
Phoebe's REAL self is quite intelligent as well; if she wanted, she could finish college in the next year. However, she tries to keep this a secret. If her mother found out about her genius brain, well, her hopes of having a "normal girl" would be crushed again. Or so Phoebe thinks, at least.
