Where flowers bloom so does hope |
The dim days of October were over, and just like that, fresh, cool, crisp winds kept whipping into Lakeport City, locking out the old month and guiding in the new. Today was a beautiful day, with temperatures ranging in the forties, or so the news channels had said. But best of all, Airi had thought, were the cirrus and puffy nimbus clouds drifting in the sky. Dressed warmly, she had set out to go to a specialized shop where they sold various kinds of mulch, mulch she had desired to add to her garden or with the approval of her boss, use in tending to the plants in the flower shop, seeing that some were medical herbs while others were Berry seedlings that could be planted in soft soil should any customer find a patch or two. Thankfully, patches of soil were common. They were up to grabs for just about anyone, and Airi, in spite of owning a garden, planted a few Berries in some for the use of other people since she couldn't provide them directly. Unfortunately, Airi seldom belonged in the northern part of the city, a region ever so foreign to the Flabebe family that originally, the Florges couldn't even imagine going there. Regardless, she had assumed it was a wise investment and used a bit of her personal savings in the kitty to determine a good budget for her shopping trip. Thankfully, the website had provided the prices beforehand, but since the florist wanted to make sure, she had taken some extra cash to compensate if the prices were higher than she had imagined. That was what she planned for, anyway. However, not everything would happen the way she expected to. Despite having directions and a map available, Airi felt she was beginning to get lost. Before she could venture into dangerous territory, she stopped and went into a seemingly reputable pharmacy and convenience store. Not being the best at social exploits, Airi had every reason to fret: about getting to the store just in time, finding her way to the store and making a good impression on whoever she happened to ask for directions. It seemed funny, but even the Florges couldn't deny that it might come across as rude. Regardless, she wasn't stupid. All she had to do was get herself together and do what she had to do despite of how awkward the situation would look. Of course, she wouldn't still handle it with grace. Carefully, Airi approached the nearest person in the vicinity and greeted them lightly, "Hello. I must apologize for my rudeness, but I've lost my way. If it's not too much trouble, could you please help me out?" Oh, boy. This was not a situation she expected to be in, but the person she asked didn't look menacing at all. However, how could she even tell how dangerous someone was just from looking at them? There was no way of her knowing. That much was true, but how could Airi press on? She just did. tagged (open) |
